As to medical consumables and drugs which has expiration date, the Japanese Red Cross has signed up a contract with companies abroad to provide Interagency Emergency Health Kit (IEHK) and Trauma and Emergency Surgery Kit (TESK) and transport them to the field immediately after the onset. Other consumables are set in the EH equipment and managed in the JRCS Osaka Hospital Logistics Center by RFID systems.
These items are rotated between Osaka Hospital before their expiration date. Some items that have very short available period like reagent for clinical tests are not stocked and when needed, we bring out from Osaka Hospital.
